Honeycomb Frame

Today I'm going to share my honeycomb frame!  I love how funky it turned out being! Here is what you'll need to make this: (Sorry that the pic isn't the best!  Can you guys forgive me?)

This project is super easy, but it is a little bit time consuming.  It took me about an hour and a half... I know that it seems like it would take a shorter time, but it doesn't :)  Here is a pic after I have started to decoupage:

Here is a close up... so that you can see how fun these patterns are:

Here is one last shot of my finished frame:

Hand-Stitched Dahlia Table Runner

Hi everyone! Today I want to share with you my darling hand-stitched dahlia inspired table runner! I think that this could be super cute for Thanksgiving! Here's how you make it:

First I cut out a flower petal shape. Next, I cut a bunch of squares and used my original petal as a pattern.  Then I repeated this process with several different fabrics.

The picture above shows four of the five fabrics that I chose after they have been cut out :)

Next I just started stitching my petals onto the cute burlap table runner.

Next I just started layering petals, and continued until it looked like this close up:

Here's one more pic of my finished table runner:

I love how funky and vintage-y this looks!  What do you guys think?!

Oatmeal Snickerdoodles

Ok, I am super excited to share this super yummy Oatmeal Snickerdoodle recipe!  My friend Elizabeth made up this recipe with her friend when they were in Jr High.  She has been telling me forever that these cookies are to die for and I thought that she was exaggerating... and guess what?!  She wasn't!  She brought over 3 dozen cookies and they were gone within minutes!

Heres' the recipe:

Ingredients:

1 c. unsalted butter, softened
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
1 egg
1 t. vanilla
1 t. baking soda
1/2 t. cream of tartar
1 t. ground cinnamon
1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1 1/2 c. quick rolled oats
Granulated sugar for dipping

Instructions:

Cream the butter and sugars until fluffy. Mix in egg and vanilla. Add baking soda, cream of tartar, and cinnamon and mix until blended. Add the flour and mix thoroughly. Mix in the oat, 1/2 c. at a time. Chill for at least an hour. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.Place 1 inch cookie dough balls on a prepared baking sheet; grease the bottom of a glass, dip in in sugar, and press cookies into 1/4 inch thick discs. Bake about 10 minutes. Makes about 3 dozen cookies.

Try them!  Oh my heck they are great!
