How To Make A Trifle

Hi everyone!  Today I am super excited to share a family favorite!  It's so pretty and so yummy!  Ok, to get started you'll need all of this stuff:

You'll need:

1. Birds Pudding approximately (4 cups)
2. Short Bread (2-4 loaves)
3. Grenadine Syrup
4. Whipping Cream (1 pint)
5. Berries, lots of berries:

Make sure that the berries are washed and dried before adding them :)  Next pull out your trifle dish if you have one, if not you can still make one in a pretty bowl.  And layer the pound cake and drizzle grenadine syrup like so:

Then ladle some of the pudding in and some of the whipping cream and some berries.  This process will be repeated about 3x, so make sure that you spread out the ingrediens evenly :)

Then you just repeat this step 3x and voila... you have a trifle!  It is so pretty and yummy!  Here is a view of both trifles that we served at our Memorial day party:

Here's our gluten free version for my cousin Sara:

Ok, here's one more view of my trifle:

It's so yummy!  What do you think?!

DIY Washi Tape Frame Tutorial

I am super excited about this post!  I had a round up last week about Washi Tape that 100% inspired me to try out Washi Tape!  To view that post click HERE.  And this fun frame is what I came up with!  This tutorial is super easy, but I'm hoping to convince a few of y'all to jump on the Washi band wagon with me:)  It was so easy and fast!  Ok, on to the tutorial.  To get started here's  what you'll need:

Next you'll lay out the washi tape and trim the edges like this pic:

And Tada!  Super fun frame!  I love crafts that are so quick and cute like this :)  Is it bad that I just said that about my own project?!  Oh well... I do think it's cute!  Here's a close up of the washi that I chose:

Here's one more shot of my frame:

Wouldn't this be a darling gift for a friend?

Maple Bell Cookies

Hi everyone!  Today I want to share a super yummy recipe for Maple Bell Cookies!  They are essentially super yummy sugar cookies that have a maple under tone.  My friend Holly made these for a party a few months ago and I knew that I had to share the recipe on my blog!  They are so yummy!  Here are a few pictures from our cookie making adventures:

This is me and Kevin about to roll out some dough.

Here is Holly Getting ready to frost our yummy cookies :)

Here's how you make these yummy cookies:

1 c. margarine or butter (2 sticks, softened)         1 tsp. baking soda
¾ c. packed light brown sugar                             ¾ tsp. salt
½ c. maple syrup                                                 4 c. flour
2 eggs                                                                 2 tsp. cream of tartar

Cream butter and brown sugar. Add syrup and eggs. Mix all dry ingredients together and then add to creamed mixture. Shape dough into a ball and roll out to cut cookies. Bake at 350 degrees for about 8 minutes (they may not look done but do not overcook.)

The homemade syrup is as directed on the Mapleine bottle,  but is 2 cups sugar and 1 cup water brought to a boil, then 1 tsp Mapleine added and stirred up.  The frosting is just a basic frosting, 1 cup butter creamed with 1 tsp vanilla, pinch of salt.  Add 1 pound powdered sugar and then add tbsps of milk at a time under it's the consistency you want.

For realsy these are the yummiest cookies!  I hope that you get a chance to try them :)

KISSTIXX Chapstick

Yep, this is a close up of lips after some KISSTIXX.  Now I bet you are wondering what is so great about this chapstick right?  Well, each KISSTIXX comes with two flavors like this picture:

Now when you and your significant other want to have a little kissing moment you each take a flavor and tada!  You have an awesome flavor mixture!  In my picture when you mix Strawberry Daiquiri and Pina Colda you then have a yummy tropical moment!  Isn't this idea so clever?!  I think that it would be darling to add to a wedding gift!  Here is a link to KISSTIXX's website: http://kisstixx.com/

Whale Cupcake Toppers Tutorial

Hi everyone!  Today I want to share how to make these cute whale cupcake toppers:

Here is a close up:

Ok, on to the tutorial.  First I found a cute whale stamp and stamped it in several fun shades of blue:

Next I took my bigshot and used this die to cut out my whales. I also used the heart from the die and popped it up with  a stampin dimensional.

Here is a picture of all of my whales all cut out with hearts :)

Then I punched out some ovals and hot glued toothpicks to the back:

Easy peesey... Here are a few more shots of my whale cupcake toppers:

Ok, last one:

These would be so cute for a baby shower, or an under the sea party!  I think that they turned out pretty darling if I say so myself :)
