Teacher Appreciation/Thank You Gift

I hope that everyone is having a lovely day!  Today I want to share this simple teacher appreciation/thank you gift.  It is super easy to make... it probably takes about 15 minutes!  And it's pretty inexpensive too! For this project you will definitely need the Simply Scored.  Here's what my project looks like:

Super simple right?!  For a tutorial on how to make lollies click here.  Remember that the Summer Smooches Sneak Peek is almost over, and it won't be available again until June 1st! Back to my project: the teacher can use this as a pencil holder, or anything else that she wants. You can't tell very well in this picture, but there are actually treats inside, but you could put anything in this little jar that you think the receiver of this gift would love. Here's one more shot of this:

The Open Sea Card

Last night I had my card class and we made this card:

I love the Open Sea Stamp Set!  It is so fun, and I love that you can make a masculine card, or a feminine card with the same stamp set.  This card could be great for father's day as well... hopefully my dad doesn't see this before father's day!  My friends had a blast making this, and some even changed theirs up a bit.  That is the beauty of being creative right?  It was such a blast to watch them feel creative.  If you live in the Salt Lake City area and you would like to come to my classes feel free to contact me!

Simple Broadsheet Alphabet Card

I love this monogram card!  As with almost all of my cards this one can be made in a matter of minutes.  In this setting the Pool Party Card Stock looks like Tiffany Blue doesn't it?!

I also love the vintage touch as well... it's subtle, but I think it's fun.

Distressed Vintage Flower Frame Tutorial

Today I want to share a project that I think turned out pretty cute if I do say so myself!  This is a great wedding gift, or just something fun to make for your home.  I ended up giving this frame to one of my sisters and she was pretty happy... so on to the tutorial!  Well, first of all here is a picture of the completed frame:

This picture is of me and my family just in case you were wondering. Ok the first step is to make these fun Distressed Vintage Flowers.  To learn how to make these watch this video:

Next you will line up your flowers on your frame and glue them down using hot glue.  I layered the a little bit to try and get as many on the frame as possible. Here's what that step looks like:

Then, I took my Bird Builder Punch and I made the leaves by simply folding the wing of the bird in half to give them a bit of a dimension.

Then I hot glued the leaves in randomly on the frame to break up the coral color.  Here's one more view of the completed project:

Introducing the Petite Purse Die!

When I first heard about the Petite Purse Die, I'll be honest I was a little skeptical until I saw it in person!  It is so darling!  This would be a great favor for a little girl's birthday party, or a cute little thinking of you gift for a friend... you can fit candy inside, and it turns out to be pretty cute if I do say so myself.  This die is available during April for a sneak peek of the new catalog that will be released in June, so get it now while you can!

Here is a close up of one of the one that has has some of the Summer Smooches Designer Serie Paper:

I love how easy these were to make!  You just run the Petite Purse Die through the Big Shot and then you have fold on the score lines and you have an instant party favor or gift!  Here's a close up of the vintage looking purse that I made:

Summer Smooches and Button Buddies Mixture

I am obviously on a Button Buddies and Summer Smooches kick. I think that this paper is so Summery, and who doesn't love Summer?

I also realized yesterday that I haven't done a blue card yet this week, and if you know me at all you know that I cannot go a week without something blue!  I think that this card is great because it is for all occasions.  I have been really into that lately.  I think that I love the flexibility of giving this to my mom for Mother's Day, or for my sister's birthday. I am all about fast, easy and  practical.

Beautiful Butterflies Wreath Tutorial

I wanted to create a wreath with butterflies.  I decided that I would give up-cycling and a wreath another go.  Here is what I came up with:

Now here is how you make this fun Springy wreath:

First I took my Big Shot and I used the Beautiful Embosslits Die and the Beautiful Butterflies Bigz Die.  I chose my card stock colors based on the colors that were found in the Summer Smooches Designer Series Paper.  I love how easy Stampin Up! makes it to coordinate everything.

Then I twisted two hangers into a circle shape, and I used wire cutters to trim the excess.  To make the shape hold I hot glued it together.

Then I took my butterflies and I started layering them and gluing them to my wire wreath.

This is a close up of part of the wreath... I wanted to show how much detail is really going on in this wreath.  There are tiny butterflies that are hard to pick up on without a close up.

Then I free handed some triangles and I stamped a little spring banner.

Then I simply glued the banner to the back of the wreath with hot glue.  This is a picture of the back of my wreath... I think that a lot of times the back of a project will tell more than the front.

So, there you have it!  If you have any questions on this tutorial please let me know!  I also want to point out that a project like this would be a card stock investment, but I only used about one sheet of each color.
So, you'll have tons of colors to make tons of other great projects.

So, I'm sure that by this time you all know about my blue obsession, but I just can't help it!  This card is super simple, but fun I think.  (I'm sure that you can tell by now, but I am lover of tea cups as well). I have been on a kick recently... cards that take only a few minutes to make.

Kind of fun right?  Well, you too could own this darling Tiny Teacup stamp!  (I'm sure that you will use it just as much as I do!  Who can resist a tiny teacup?)

This Is Me

Happy Thursday to everyone!  Today I wanted to share a little bit about myself.  I have been looking at a lot of blogs and I realized that I enjoy blogs that feel personal and real... and that is hard for me... not the being real, but sharing a lot about myself.  I'm pretty private, but I decided that if you are taking the time to read my blog you deserve to know who is creating those projects.

This is a picture of me with my sister and cousin.  I'm the one in the green.  So, here is a little bit about me:
1. I'm 25.
2. I live in Utah
3. I'm a French language enthusiast.
4. I thought that I wanted to be a teacher, but I changed my mind and now I have a degree in history with a minor in French.
5. I use French at work.
6. A year ago I never would have seen myself starting this blog and sharing my Stampin Up! obsession.
7. I've lived in France and Switzerland as a missionary for the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
8. I love to jam and turn up the radio really loud when I'm alone in my car.
9. I love to run. (I'm trying to get back in shape right now and hopefully run a half marathon in June... Yikes!)
10. I can't stop reading a good book... that drives my family crazy!

So, there you go.  That is a little bit about me.

Summer Smooches Frame Tutorial

I hope that you all are out enjoying the sunshine, while checking out my blog of course :) I know that I always say that I am super excited about a project, but I really am today!  Here's what it looks like:

I had a request for a tutorial on a frame that I did a little while ago (pictured below). To see the full post on this frame click HERE.  I also have a separate tutorial for the Distressed Vintage Flowers if you want to know how I made the other elements on this frame.

This frame is super easy and will only take a few minutes. Ok, so here is how you make the base of this frame:

First I cut strips of all different sizes and lengths.  Then i simply glued them to the frame like this picture. It really is as simple as that.  Then I just continued to add layers until the entire frame was covered.

Then all I did was add this cute little banner that I made out of our Summer Smooches Designer Series Paper.  To make this I free handed an initial shape for my flags, and then I used it as a template to cut the other flags.  And Ta Da!  You have a darling hand made gift.

Here is one more shot of this easy to make frame.  Literally you can do this in a half hour!  That is so my style.  Can you imagine giving this as a darling birthday gift?  And as usual pictures just don't do it justice... oh well, you'll just have to take my word for it.

Ode To The Fun Flower Punch

I have wanted to write this post for a while now.  There is so much that you can do with one punch!  The possibilities are endless! Here are the projects that I have made using the Fun Flower Punch:

The largest flower was made using this punch!

Here's one on a card.

Here is one that uses a technique that you used as a kid to make a frame.

Here is a video about how to make these cute distressed flowers.

Here's a different card that is super vintage.

Here is an upcycled Heart Wreath that I made using this punch...

I also made a fun little garland with the distressed vintage flowers.

This punch also matches the Triple Treat Flower Stamp, and I used my Fun Flower Punch 1 million times to make these cute boxes for my brother's wedding.

So, as you can see there are so many uses for one punch!  I think that I have a few more ideas up my sleeve as well.
