DIY Cup Cake Topper

I'm really excited about this little cake topper.  It was really easy to make.  Can you imagine this little cup cake topper at your next girly get together?  It looks amazing in person!  (The cup cakes can't even compare to how cute the topper is!)

I love how easy and simple this is!  You can have darling decorations in 15 minutes.  Who can beat that?

Distressed Vintage Flower Garland Tutorial

I am really excited about this project!  It looks really pretty in person.  And, I'm definitely a sucker for blue....

So, now I'm going to explain how I made it.  A few weeks ago I did a tutorial on these distressed vintage flowers, so click here to learn how to make them.

I made my flowers out of Calypso Coral, Island Indigo, and Pool Party Card Stock.  I made 12 of each flower, but you could definitely make more if you wanted :)

Then I took my 1" punch and I punched out 12 circles of each color.

Then I took some fishing line and I hot glued the flowers to the fishing line with the 1" circles that I punched out.  I then continued this process until all of the flowers were glued on.

Here's one more shot of what this garland looked like hanging in my window. It turned out kind of artistic... I wish that I could say that I planned that.

Simple Sale-a-bration Card

I love simple and easy, and that is what this card is.  Honestly you could do this in 5 minutes and you have a handmade card that is great for any occasion. 

How I Came To Be a Crafter

I never thought that I was "crafty"... enter Stampin Up!... and the rest is history.  I had always admired cute handmade things, but I never thought that I could do it.  I was one of those people who never tried... until I tried Stampin Up!  I know that this might sound trite, but Stampin Up! actually allowed me to say that I'm artistic.  Even at work this has affected me.  I allow myself to think that I can come up with creative solutions.  I wonder if any of you have ever had an experience like this?  When you discovered that crafting is one of the best creative outlets ever.  I owe a lot to Stampin Up!

Elementary Elegance Vintage Card

I think that this card is simple and fun.  I'm pretty sure that pink almost always = fun.  I like this card because it is vintage while still being girly and fun.

Distressed Vintage Flower Card

Some of you may recognize this flower... I did a tutorial on this a week or so ago, but I couldn't let this cute flower go to waste. To check out the tutorial click here.   I love how this card turned out. I know that this card seems really intense, but you can make it so quickly! Just a quick note on the leaves.  I used the bird builder punch... the wing makes some great leaves.  I am really excited about it.

Another Card Using the Owl Punch

Owl Cupcake Toppers

I love the owl punch!  I am going to show a card that I made using this punch tomorrow, but today I want to show off my cute little cupcake toppers. These would be darling for a baby shower!

Kind of fun aren't they?  I think that this punch can be used for so many fun things!  Here's a view of my little owls actually in some cupcakes:

Butterfly Wall Art

First of all I have to say Happy St. Patricks Day everyone!  Ok, now on to a craft project that I am really excited about it!  I wanted to show two different views of this project:

 

Can you imagine this hanging above your little girl's bed?  I love how simple this project is! 

To begin with I cut out all of these butterflies using my Big Shot, the Beautiful Butterflies Die, and the Beautiful Wings embosslits die.  I used Pool Party, Calypso Coral, and Lucky Limeade card stock and Everyday Enchantment designer series paper.

Next I would poke a small hole with a tiny safety pin in the butterfly. (I used the Vintage Trinkets from Stampin Up for this)  The next step is to cut some fishing line to the desired length.  The you take you butterfly and string the fishing line through the hole. Then you tie a knot to secure it.  Then you continue on and add one butterfly at a time. (I'm sorry for the lack of pictures, but it was really hard to get the fishing line to show up).

The next step is to bend and cut a hanger to your desired shape.  This gives you something to display your  butterfly garlands with.  I bent my hanger using some pliers.  I also tied some Pool Party Ruffled Ribbon to my hanger.  Here is what the bent hanger looks like up close:

 The other option is to hang each butterfly strand from a chandelier.  Can you imagine this decoration for a baby shower, or a wedding shower?  Kind of fun huh?! Here is what it looked liked hanging from my chandelier:

A Button Buddies Card

Ok, on to my project for the day. I think this card is kind of fun.  I love that with the Button Buddies Stamp Set a button fits perfectly on the stamped image!  Here is my latest Button Buddies Creation:

This card is something that is fun.  I love the banner trend, and this is a fun way to bring it to a simple card.

DIY Wedding Sign In Book Continued

There you have the highlights of the sign in book.  I didn't show all of the pages, but I think that I at least showed my favorites.  One page that I didn't show had their invitation on it.  Just an idea.  

DIY Wedding Sign In Book

I did this project for my brother's wedding, and I really love how the pages turned out.  There are so many pictures that I am going to split this into 2 posts.  Their colors were obviously turquoise and brown.  I tried to capture the details of the pages as best as I could, but they are still a part of a book.

I love how this project turned out!  I used their engagement photos and added some cute embellishments from Stampin Up!  I mostly used ribbon and card stock.  This sign in book was a fun touch for my brother's wedding.

Distressed Vintage Flowers

Alright, so this technique is one of my favorites!  I decided that I would do a quick little video on it, but I must caution you that this only my second video.  So, it's not quite perfect yet.  Here is a picture of what I'm going to make in the video:
